Method 1 - Drivers

Nvidia

Nvidia drivers sometimes are a bit wonky. When my hardware arrived my drivers had to be reinstalled in order to get my graphics card working properly.

1 - Download your drivers from their official site.

2 - Download GeForce Experience to maintain latest drivers

AMD

I personally have no experience with AMD graphics.

1 - Download your drivers from their official site.

Method 2 - Commands

1 - Goto autoexec.cfg

(C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod\cfg)

2 - Paste the following:

mat_queue_mode "0"
mem_max_heapsize "2048"
host_thread_mode "4" // 8 for octa-core, 6 for hexa-core, 4 for quad-core, 2 for double-core
r_threaded_client_shadow_manager "1"
r_threaded_particles "1"
r_threaded_renderables "1"
r_queued_decals "1"
r_queued_post_processing "1"
threadpool_affinity "4" // 8 for octa-core, 6 for hexa-core, 4 for quad-core, 2 for double-core

Method 3 - Spring Cleaning

1 - Remove those ADDONS!

This will help alot! Booting Garry's Mod with 300+ addons

will make your computer waste resources to compensate

for your mounted addons. Subscribe to packs that matter!
